I’m going to tell you something that you don’t know yet, but that will reveal itself in time: You are perfect. I’ll say it again just to be clear: You. Are. Perfect.
I know you don’t know this yet because I know what you see when you look in the mirror. I know the imperfections you create and they don’t matter.
The mirror sees that you have a nervous habit of biting your cuticles and fingernails. The mirror sees that your tummy is sometimes bloated, that you have a little cellulite on your butt, and it sees how your thighs touch. The mirror sees the stray hairs around your eyebrows, and that your thin hair and split ends need to be trimmed, and that one eye is slightly lazier than the other. The mirror sees that you probably need to go outside more and experience what the Sun has to offer. The mirror sees that you’re breaking out today, and that you haven’t been sleeping well lately. The mirror sees that your chest resembles that of a 12-year-old boy.
The mirror sees how very perfect you are.
You are perfect, and it will take time for you to see. But you will.
Your perfections are far more than meets the eye. Your perfect imperfections shine from within as well. You are beautiful… You’re beautiful because you’re stronger than you think. You’re beautiful because you have pushed through hard times, you haven’t given up, and because you are still here. I am proud of you.
You are beautiful because you are an inspiration. You are beautiful because you struggle. You’re beautiful because you are real. You’re beautiful because you have so much to teach people. And things you have yet to teach yourself.
You are beautiful because you are brave. You’re beautiful because you look for the best in people. And you’re beautiful because you love with all you have.
You’re beautiful and you shouldn’t wait for someone else to tell you. You should see it. And you will.
